A dark paneled Den and adjoining Old World kitchen were opened up to create one larger family space. The 3' wide doorway separating the 2 spaces was widened to 12'. The in-kitchen washer/dryer was relocated. This allowed for a new pantry and peninsula that bridges the 2 spaces. In the Den, paneling was removed from the Kitchen wall and false fireplace only. 12" x 24" floor tiles and the use of 3 shades of taupe gray used on walls, trim and exposed brick tie the 2 rooms together..
