The amphitheater, located in Clifton Forge, Virginia, was designed and built by 16 third-year architecture students in a year-long class called design/buildLAB, led by Keith and Marie Zawistowski. The amphitheater is mostly locally sawn white oak with the acoustics for the facility provided by a backdrop of zinc, titanium, and stainless steel.
