Coastal California
This new house located South of San Francisco for a young family consists of a living wing and a sleeping wing separated by a circulation spine. Sloped roofs are reminiscent of mid-Century design, but the details and finishes are strikingly modern. With large areas of glass facing the beach, the house exploits views up and down the coast while wood screens provide privacy from the street and solid walls provide privacy on the sides of the house that don’t face the water. Exterior materials include wood siding, stucco, wood screens, glass and concrete. Colors are subtle and monochromatic. A master suite on the second floor with adjoining roof decks offer amazing views.
