The owners wanted to replace the thirsty, tired lawn in this west facing garden in Carlsbad. We designed a drought tolerant cottage garden with a bocce ball court, flagstone paths, and gazebo where they can sit on sunny days and enjoy their view of the coast.

The native and drought tolerant plant materials include a dymondia lawn, sages, buckwheats and a variety of native and drought tolerant grasses.
