Colonial Style Updated

A 1980s color scheme left by a former owner did not fit the new owner. He wanted it light and bright, and a place to display his antique furniture. I applied moldings to the lower wall area and painted the walls 2 soft shades of beige. Added hardwood flooring and had his antique sconces hardwired and lifted onto shelves and rearranged the furniture. New draperies and seat cushions.

The grape colored walls were dark and an 80's decor that didn't enhance the new owner's fine antiques. Luckily we had beautiful hardwood beneath the silver grey carpet.

My happy client admires his improved dinning room that is light and airy. Addition of applied molding to Dado reinforces the colonial era feel of this 1980's built Kingsmill area room.

New furniture layout and addition of wall hung sconces improve flow around the table and increase light. The antique lights are mounted on fine wood and brass shelves. The chair seats sport new covers. All furniture was in the client's collection.

Handmade, lined and interlined draperies complement the tall windows of this Kingsmill colonial, adding the finishing touch to a classic update.
