This Colorado home takes full advantage of the mountain views with tall glass windows or glass sliding doors on three sides of the house. This client, an active, outdoors sports lover, is thrilled to be able to see deer, elk, and coyote walk past her windows on a near daily basis.
Special features such as heated towel racks and large mirrored electrified storage medicine cabinets in the bathrooms helped to individualize the home to the client's desires, as did the use of natural hardwood and local pebbles of various sizes alongside concrete and glass.
The entrance and side terrace feature variegated tones of weathered wooden circular stepping stones cut from local trees surrounded by a pebbled-surface. In an effort to create a private retreat some 75 trees were planted and eight 3 ton rocks were moved to the site. The trees and the rocks create privacy and symmetry on the home's exterior.
