Goal: A functional kitchen for meal preparation for large groups that invites guests to visit and enjoy being with the hosts.
The owner wanted a showcase kitchen that functioned as a gathering place while affording prep, cooking areas and storage for a multitude of cookware and serving pieces. The microwave was moved to the lower cabinet space, providing a better profile and easier access. There is storage for large serving platters and linens below a counter that can serve as a setup area or buffet. Cherry cabinets were replaced with ivory and coffee glazed ones that immediately brightened the atmosphere in the kitchen. One of the hottest spots is the Miele expresso station where guests are served their favorite hot drink, or the hostess may indulge her personal fancy.
