Clients previous Deck House was a total loss due to a fire, and a new house -- also a Deck House -- was designed for the same spot. The new design utilized similar materials but in a completely different layout which was informed by the owner's 30+ years on the site and a desire to look forward rather than back. Energy efficiency and easy living were key to the new project, with one level living for the current occupants but plenty of room above and below for extended family and guests. An array of photovoltaic panels provides the majority of the home's electrical requirements, and the geothermal heating system provides for heating and cooling.
