Contemporary Comfort Remodel

When it was time for our newly-wed clients to move in together, his dingy bachelor pad was not going to cut it. A full renovation was required to transform this dark and dated two story townhome into a modern space suitable for the happy couple.

In order to create a space that was open and inviting, the kitchen peninsula and stairwell walls had to go. The kitchen was extended into the dining space, providing over 20’ of countertop space, equipped with a bar and butlers pantry area. Butcher block was integrated into the countertop to add contrast and functionality. Creative details were incorporated by the simple handcrafted subway tile, paired with a mosaic inlay. The floating shelves bring a feeling of openness to the space.

In the living space, a floor to ceiling stacked stone fireplace was created to balance out the two story living room wall. The in-wall lighting illuminates the industrial cable stair railing that leads to the second story loft.

Both upstairs bathrooms were updated, with the master bathroom scope consisting of removing the shower wall and adding a frameless glass enclosure. In the guest bathroom, mixed stone, glass, and a mother of pearl accent tile paired well together to form a spa like experience for the guests. The whole house was painted a calming white color, with wallpaper accents throughout.

All of this was complemented by classic and comfortable furnishings that our clients will love for years to come!
