Traditional Boho Glam
Designing a traditional architectural home with Boho glam stylings involved balancing contemporary glamour and bursting colors with the timeless beauty of traditional architecture. This home is situated in a quiet neighborhood featuring traditional architectural details such as wainscoting, cove molding, and detailed arches.
For the Boho glam project, the challenge was creating a vibrant, fun and inviting atmosphere without unsettling the tranquil nature of the traditional architecture. We started by creating a conceptual interior design executed to balance the historical elements with a sparkling bohemian accent. We swapped the white walls with a bold mix of rich and mystical tones of colors, adding textured wallpaper, and vibrant teals, reds, and golds fabrics. We kept the existing high-quality hardwood floors restored and polished with highlights throughout the home while balancing the patterned textiles against the windows and doors of the home. In the living room, a plush velvet teal-colored sofa was slid across from a black and cream area rug of Boho glam inspiration. To lighten up that atmosphere, a whitewashed mid-century modern style cabinet was used to exhibit a assortment of vivid souvenirs of different shapes and sizes. Decorative hanging lamps of strong golden embellishments and accented beading were installed in this room.
The bedrooms showcase more glamorous elements, as we used colorful framed mirrors to decorate the walls, adding golden and silver embellishments main in table lamps below them. We installed neo-glam chandeliers to provide a sparkle of warmth and ambient lighting throughout the space. In the guest room, we added ornamental throw pillows on a large neutral white bedding adding a vibrant touch but maintaining the scheme of the room with white, blush, and muted look. Finally, the furnished bathrooms feature natural materials comprising artisan-style mosaics and colorful mottled tiles resulting in a boho charm while maximizing luxury and comfort in the space. The result is a functional space adorned with matadors, vibrant motifs, patterned pillows, and one-of-a-kind tchotchkes.
We have found a cohesive existence between boho eclectic and traditional architecture taking it to a more upscale level of appeal with an overall harmonious blend of classic elegance and gleaming Boho glam.
