The Copper Sun Residence represents a comprehensive fusion of modern architectural renovation and ecological landscape design in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. Situated in Phoenix, Arizona, the project responded to a significant architectural overhaul that reoriented the home’s layout by 180 degrees architecture to capture optimal views and natural light. Our design approach was developed in tandem with this structural shift, ensuring the exterior environment perfectly complements the new interior flow.

The primary challenge was to reframe the property’s relationship with the desert. Rather than fighting the arid climate, the design embraces it. The existing landscape, dominated by traditional turf grass, was transformed into a sophisticated, low-maintenance environment that aligns with luxury desert living. By reducing the grass coverage by 50%, the design significantly lowers water consumption while creating a more modern, streamlined aesthetic.
