Cottage 19 - The Village
These images are historic re-creations of a building in its prime - roughly 100 years ago. Using photos, sketches and postcards as reference, we modeled this building in 3DS Studio Max. Once upon a time, this was the home of the Northern Michigan Asylum, also known as the Traverse City State Hospital. Today, it has been transformed into a very active living and working environment that is a landmark in Northern Michigan. In fact, dozens of similarly abandoned institutions throughout the country look to The Village at Grand Traverse Commons as an example of what a successful turnaround looks like. J. Scott Smith Visual Designs is proud to have been involved with a number of design visualization projects for nearly two decades.
