Years ago I fell in love with the gardens in Charleston, SC, so I created my own Charleston garden at my home. The courtyard space is viewed from a covered patio connected to the house. Brick is used for the walls that surround the courtyard and for the main sidewalk. Bluestone was used for the patio and as accents in the courtyard. The pergola features large cedar beams and purlins atop 4 brick columns. The original construction had pressure treated wood painted white.
