A spacious kitchen with a large center island emerged from what was originally four odd spaces in this 1920s home in Grove Park, Asheville N.C.

From a warren of small spaces emerged a clean, functional design with beige beaded inset cabinets on the perimeter with a large dark wood center island. Great care was taken to preserve the architectural details of the craftsman style home.

By opening the spaces, natural light is abundant. The light beige cabinets contrast beautifully with the dark wood island. The more open floorplan connects the rest of the house with the addition of a door to the dining room.
