The knotty pine, reminiscent of the paneling on the living room walls in the original home here on Egbert Street when Karen was a child, was used to bring the recurring cross hatching of the lines you see on the wall mural, into the studio in a most practical way.
The window seat had been destroyed during the hurricane so Joseph suggested a new placement for the studio seating and work areas, flipping them to great advantage.
This is the beginning of construction that Karen & Joseph conferred on so that the bench could be a comfortable place to work, nap & be inspired by the wonderful new surroundings.
