New Jersey Storm Sandy Project

This 1964 home was renovated after the Sandy Storm, on the NJ Barrier Island. The design stayed within the owner's specific budget and was kept very simple. Fortunately, much of the original furniture was saved by the family; enabling Decorative Philosophy to renew, reuse & repurpose.
The kitchen was only renovated where the water damage occurred, thus keeping the costs way down. We were able to match the new lower cabinets to the existing upper cabinets, giving them all a beautiful new glow with high quality paint.
The home looks much as it did pre storm but with an updated chair rail, bead board paneling and a luxurious variety of paint finishes all kept within a muted palette. It is the mix of paint finishes all within the same color range that brings the rooms to life without overwhelming them with background color.
