Rhodes Hardwood is Minnesota's specialist in custom finished wood floors. Between our stains, dyes, finishes, hardwax oils, bleaching, ebonizing, fuming, smoking, pre colors & texturing techniques we are able to create any look imaginable.
WE OFFER:
* Staining -- Oil & Non-Toxic Water Stains (100's of color options)
* Dyes
* Precolors (To add an undertone, or to achieve a 2 toned look)
* Fuming (a greying effect created by a natural reaction with the woods natural tannin oils -- This provides a great undertone prior to staining or finishing with a earwax
* Smoking (An aging sort of look also caused by a natural tannin reaction)
* Bleaching -- A pretreatment used to whiten wood. This can hide red tones in red oak or get a great undertone prior to using a white or grey stain..
* Ebonizing -- Another Natural Tannin reaction that causes a graying/blackening -- More applications=darker and darker looks - This works as a coloring option or an undertone to other colors/stains
* Ceruse/Veining -- This is proprietary process we use to make your woods soft and hard grains have different colors
* Wirebrushing - This is a technique used to scrape out some of the woods soft grain which creates a textured look, when coupled with pre colors, pretreatments, stains etc we can create some very unique looks with this technique (we are the only Minnesota company that has the proprietary equipment for doing this)
* Handscraping -- This is the technique of scraping the entire surface of the floor for a unique textured look
