Mid Century Modern. What more can be said about unique styling and detail. This Mid Century Home has nearly all of it's original details. The Clients have been very respectful to the home and original details, and desired to update the original wood overhead garage door with a new door, but were displeased with the options available. May Builders, working with the Clients came to a mutual decision that what this unique home required was not a new overhead garage door made of steel to resemble a Mid Century Modern door, but Re-building the Original overhead door that belonged on the house.

Over the course of a week of manual labor, the original door was disassembled, rebuilt, and repainted. Adding new exterior panels and marine varnish to seal the doors wood components from the tough Michigan enviroments. All of the metal hinges, rollers and opener were replaced with new components and tracks. All of the modernization was completed out of sight, leaving walkers, and guest to view this Mid Century Modern Home as it was intended.
