This board catches the lip of a countertop with its specially designed front and back cleats which keep it from sliding away when rolling pastries or cutting greens. The backsplash is used by pastry chefs to roll and flatten dough against.

End-grain blocks like this are known as self-healing or self repairing boards because of the vertical orientation of the wood grain. This makes the board much harder than normal, such that it both resists knife markings, and also makes cuts self repair over time with normal oiling and care.

Spoons are carved from solid pieces of cherry, maple, and walnut and are finished with a light food-grade finish to protect from water and heat. Spoons treated with care easily become heirlooms!

Unfinished wood products like cutting boards must be oiled regularly to resist moisture, and splitting. A board oiled regularly can easily last generations.
