Davis Creek House

Appalachian vernacular built on a previously developed site using reclaimed lumber, an existing foundation, and a high-performance envelope. Innovative design and building strategies include solar water heating, large overhangs for shading, operable windows for passive cooling, structural insulated panel system (SIPS) for the exterior walls and attic floor and a whole-house energy recovery ventilator (ERV) for fresh-air ventilation.
