The San Francisco Showcase house for 2013 was an iconic Georgian mansion. The powder room was created with all custom fabricated furnishings located directly off a large party room, and bar on the top floor with sweeping views of the Bay. The goal was to exude luxury and whimsy in a small space. A pleated fabric treatment was used to cover the walls. The stylized fern motif fabric woven in cotton and silk, created a dramatic graphic diamond pattern. Black, cream, and metallic tones were combined with a mosaic marble floor, beneath the illumination of a “princely” light fixture, including the marble mosaic floor, metal wall-hung table, hand-fabricated and gilded light fixture.
