DEPTH
Interior of a bedroom in a contemporary style.
To create a comfortable environment, it was necessary to change the geometry of the room: we wanted to give the elongated space a more squared shape, since they say people feel best in square-shaped rooms. To achieve these, several techniques were used:
One of the longer walls was partially painted in deep dark blue, which visually pushed it aside;
On the opposite wall, mirrors were used to expand the space horizontally;
Low ceilings were visually raised with vertical lines of furniture, doors and partitions.
All that compbined helped to widen the room both horizontally and vertically. By changing the proportions, the bedroom has become more spacious and airy.
The chosen color palette, light walls and pastel textiles, also added to this effect. The textiles bring in the comfort and soften the 'contrast' of mirrored surfaces. To soften the interior even more, we also used aged plaster on one of the walls. Thanks to a warm-toned yellow backlight, it gives the room the feeling of sunlight that it lacks. Thus, even on a gloomy, cloudy day, the bedroom will be filled with a bright, warm and cozy atmosphere.
On of the highlights of the room is a piano located in an impromptu music area behind a glass partition by the bed. The cushion covers add vivid accents - orange and yellow colors add a touch of playfulness to this restrained and calm space.
