Desert Transitional - Mountain Shadows
This renovation in the Mountain Shadows East community of Paradise Valley, Arizona is light and bright with a more contemporary style. The owners kept some of their more traditional furnishings, which add an eclectic mix that personalizes the home. Natural materials, neutral colors, and lots of texture give this home a welcoming and comfortable feeling.
Client: This boomer couple were downsizing from that large family home into a more comfortable and convenient home that fit their current lifestyle. They wanted to update their furnishings from a very formal and traditional style to a soft, desert contemporary look, but had a few sentimental pieces they wanted to keep. They envisioned an open and inviting home full of light, which would feel welcoming to family and friends but not overly large for the two of them.
Our Task: This home was originally built by one of the top custom home builders in the area, but had not been updated in many years. The kitchen was separated from the rest of the house and felt very closed and dated. We opened the space into a large great room and created interest through ceiling changes. All new flooring, walls, cabinets and furnishings were needed to complete the update.
This was another happy client and successful project - "Tanya helped in our interior remodel and decorating project. She listened to what we wanted, did all the foot work and parred down choices for our decisions. We have been extremely pleased with the outcome. She worked well with our contractor and subcontractors. We will continue to use Tanya and recommend her to others."
