When did it become such a hassle to buy a light bulb? Use this simple guide to help. We based this on a standard 60-watt equivalent soft white bulb, the most common bulb in use. Adjust lumens and wattage and energy up and down as needed.

What is the color of your walls, floor, furnishings, and ceiling? We generally recommend 2700K for warmer-toned homes and 3000K for cooler-toned homes. Rarely do we recommend 4000K or higher, especially after sunset as it can disrupt your sleep.

LED bulbs last longer and longer, but not all are created equal. Look for bulbs that last at least 13.7 years (when burned 3 hours a day on average). The best bulbs last 22 years or longer.
