After collaborating together nearly 20 years ago, this lovely couple contacted us to renovate their kitchen and great room. As empty nesters, their Itasca, IL residence is home base for family gatherings. To make entertaining easier, we improved traffic flow in the kitchen by replacing the L-shaped island and a small prep island with one large, rectangular unit. Now they have comfortable island seating for five and plenty of cooking and serving surface. We also opened up the view from the kitchen to their beautiful outdoor pool and the golf course beyond. Removing two column details between the kitchen and great room opened up those sight lines as well. Because our clients loved the great room furniture we chose in an earlier update, we created a new look by reupholstering and refinishing several pieces while designing new custom rugs and window treatments. Our clients are thrilled with the results, and they enjoy entertaining more than ever. Mission accomplished!
