This young family had purchased a house in which the previous owner had added a large room at the back of the house. I met with them and we discussed how to make the best use of this space. The original kitchen was adjacent to this large space, between it and the living room. There was not a designated space for a dining room.
I developed a plan that moved the kitchen to the back of the house, using the full width of the addition. The plan provided a functional layout with perimeter cabinets and counters, as well as a nice size center island that could incorporate seating for 4 people.
