Family Kitchen Relocation and Renovation

The homeowners' existing kitchen was painfully small and did not fit the well appointed home located in an affluent community. The clients wanted to move the entire kitchen into the family room/game room which was much larger and had the space that they wanted to have in their kitchen without needing to build an addition.

All of the new kitchen's appliances are located along this wall. Note the refrigerator blending in with the cabinetry. The tile backsplash behind the dropdown hood lends the feel of an old brick chimney.

Gorgeous Result

From this angle, it is easy to see the entire new kitchen. Pendant lights were installed on the sloped ceiling, and decorative alcoves were built into the wall for display purposes.

The wet bar cabinetry includes display shelving for the homeowner's decor.

Wet Bar

This powder room was placed in the location of the old wet bar in the homeowner's original kitchen. We closed off the living room side and opened the wall from the new kitchen side and created the powder room within that space.

Powder Room

This shot displays the island and provides an excellent perspective and feel for the room as seen from the rear left side. Notice the detail of the island/bar top. The curves soften the top and provide a flow and sense of movement within the island.

Plenty of Seating

The custom cabinetry is a great space to install appliances, such as this home's Electrolux Convection Microwave and Electrolux Convection Oven.

The Birds Eye Maple door panels are decorative and lend to the warm feel of the space.

By choosing to install an under-the-counter microwave, we maximize on existing counter space.

We installed pull-out cutting boards that flank the range hood.

Convenience in the Cooking Space

In addition to providing seating, the kitchen island is also a great prep space, and house's the family's dishwasher.

Multipurpose Island

This bench functions not only as seating for the family, but storage as well. There is storage on the left and right as well as a lift up bench top with storage inside.

Custom Bench Seating

This kitchen remodel features custom built cabinetry in every corner, from the pantry closet to the built-ins around the appliances.

Custom-Made Space

This space receives a lot of natural light from the multiple skylights and large windows facing the backyard, but that doesn't help the room at night. So, we installed plenty of overhead lighting, including the pendant lights--a challenging task, on a sloped ceiling.

We created this entry alcove so the family had access to both the garage and a coat closet.
