This new construction, custom home in Crystal Cove California was designed for a young and active family. The architecture is Italian farmhouse. The specifications I selected were tied into the architecture and the historical reference to the farmhouse style. I used warm wood tones, rustic stone and hand painted tiles throughout. The palette was neutral with accents of red and yellow. I used antiques throughout the home without it feeling heavy. The overall mood was light and casual. My client was a Folk art collector. This is project is a good example of the art being the eclectic layer in a traditional home. This is one of my favorite projects. It defied the norms of design and architecture for this area of Orange County.
