Flora - Exterior Update

The home is part of a 4 door row, with some units dating back more than 100 years. Additionally, the site is located within Ottawa’s Centertown West Heritage Conservation District, an area protected under Part V of Ontario’s Heritage Act.

The homeowner wanted to refit the façade of the house, which was actually added to the row in the 1990’s, to not only improve the look, but also upgrade the function of the rooflines and porch cover and to replace the existing siding that was failing after only 20 years.

The final result is a radical departure from the previous appearance, and is certainly in keeping with the owner’s goal to remake the look of his home. The new façade will fit naturally into the neighbourhood for the next 100 years.
