This was a replacement for a home that burned in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Mountain Brook. We utilized the existing basement that was salvaged, though we made the small additions at front for the projections at each end.

The terrain of the lot for this Mayfair home required us to locate garage doors on the front and in the basement. We utilized a Louisiana Creole style to give the effect of a raised cottage. The dramatic stair to the main level becomes an important feature of the home.

This Altadena home was a replacement for a home that had burned. We had to utilize the basement that was still usable, though the plan of the house had been very odd. We were able to add to the foundation in a couple of small areas that gave the home a more cohesive plan and exterior appearance.
