From Cramped to Captivating
Wanting to fully unleash the potential of their home, this Worthington Hills family of four contacted ValEquity Construction. With a kitchen that lacked any sort of space for both storage and tasks, both husband and wife working from home multiple days a week, and the desire to stay in their home for years to come - we worked together on a layout that made plenty of sense for their lifestyle. By removing the wall down separating the front living room from the rear dining and kitchen - we would fill that new area with a much larger kitchen footprint. They had no need for a formal dining area, but wanted the option to still host large gatherings. Now, with the removal of the walls, they can still converse with one another in any section of the first floor.
Upstairs in the bathrooms, it was definitely more of an update vs an expansive remodel. Starting in the kid's hall bathroom - the client's chose to go with a timeless Onyx collection surround and new tub. The contrast of black fixtures on the white panels make the space pop. In the primary bathroom, the homeowners elected to remove the framing from the doorway leading into the water closet from the sink area. This subtle change gave needed space to expand the shower, which was then updated with Onyx with a subway tile pattern. A custom vanity was built and finished to match the island in the new kitchen. The space was finished with tile for the flooring.
