Drought-tolerant elements are added to what was a front-yard lawn area. Now there's a large decomposed granite area on one side of the walkway to the front door that's contrasted with the lawn area on the other side. But both sides are connected with drought-tolerant borders with gravel, succulent & other low-moisture plants. The design is completed with a simple decomposed granite strip between the sidewalk and the street.
