They say even the best need to evolve with the times. That’s the case for this 2,087-sq ft apartment in the luxurious Grand House development in Macdonnell Road, Mid-levels. Completed in 1957, the colonial style mid-rise building has long been popular among well-to-do families. Its Mid-levels location offers families a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, but it is also very accessible with Hong Kong’s financial district of Central just a 15-minute walk away.
With the owner being a big fan of cooking, it is important to give her a kitchen that was not only convenient, but also stylish to inspire her creativity. To do so, we took a page from North American kitchen design with a semi-open kitchen with a large island, bar top table, hot water machine and wine cellar. In terms of the colour scheme and materials, we adopted Scandinavian design with subtle woods and white marble, which is simple yet sophisticated.
