Guest Bedroom - Condo

This small guest bedroom was designed to fit the needs of a male or female visitor. For example, KAI added bright raspberry-colored velvet pillows to make the space more feminine in a few of the pictures. On the other hand, it can just as easily be converted into a more masculine space by eliminating the brighter pillows and adding more neutral design elements. The accent wall behind the bed is a darker greige color to add dimension and a pop of color to the bedroom while the other walls are painted a lighter gray color. KAI designed the custom headboard which features a neutral herringbone patterned fabric, nailhead trim, and a beautiful arabesque-shape. The velvet quilt matches the accent wall and adds texture and warmth to the space. The matching mother-of-pearl lamps add style and provide adequate lighting for guests. The chandelier has a drum shade to diffuse the light and coordinate with the table lamps on the nightstands. The dark espresso-toned nightstands add contrast and balance to the space. One of the challenges KAI encountered was the width of the wall in back of the queen-sized bed could only accommodate a certain scale/size furniture; therefore, KAI selected two end-tables that are the same style, finish, and from the same manufacturer, but they are slightly different in size (note, the one on the right has two small drawers and a open shelf at the bottom, while the other nightstand has three drawers and is slightly wider). The bumped-out portion of the accent wall also gave KAI a reason to design the nightstands this way.
