This small cramped kitchen had a door into dining and another into the hall, one corner taken up by a closet accessed from hall and another by a pantry. It was small, clautrophobic and definitely not user friendly. With the help of detailed support columns all of the interior walls were removed and the kitchen opened up to the living and dining rooms as well as the hall. This new area in the hall now has stools for additional entertaining, seating and storage. In spite of the medium size of the space the black painted cabinets add a nice sophistication and draw visitors and homeowners alike into the kitchen. Storage and counter space was easily tripled while still opening the entire room.
