This space originally defined it's space by means of a large peninsula. The first programmatic design decision was to eliminate this obstruction and reorganize the function of the kitchen space. The family of 4 needed to maintain the ability to host social events focused on the activity of the kitchen while opening the most logical path of travel between the three spaces. A full upgrade of kitchen appliances included a beautifully built-in range hood which immediately draws the eye to the focal point of the kitchen.
