SW NARI Regional Whole House Renovation Award 2017
The Goldenwood Residence is a whole house renovation and addition to an existing home located in Driftwood, TX. The scope consisted of a complete interior remodel of the existing kitchen, living, and dining spaces, the addition of a new master suite, and a new landscaped entry concept at the front yard.
The existing home was very dark with poorly located windows that failed to take advantage of views to the extensive gardens and wonderful hill country landscape throughout the large property. The design intent of the renovation was to re-sequence and re-orient the main spaces to create greater harmony on the interior while promoting a more substantive connection to the landscape beyond. Local craftsmen and materials were utilized to create an aesthetic that is deeply rooted in traditions native to Central Texas while remaining clean and modern in feel.
