Historic Portsmouth
This was a full renovation of a historic downtown Portsmouth site. A massive overgrown perennial garden was removed to make way for a large lawn with children and pets in mind. We preserved many of the perennials and trees, while integrating a new permeable cobblestone patio atop some major drainage infrastructure to mitigate water issues that had troubled the low lying site. The homeowners had the 1920’s soapstone sink in storage, which was framed in site harvested granite and repurposed as a beverage trough. The cedar and wire fence was a collaboration between us and Matt Stack of Port Light and Water, who also installed all of the irrigation and landscape lighting on the site.
