Historic Rustic Kitchen
Clients asked us for a cozy, timeless kitchen that felt refreshing but not out of place in their 1904-built family home. While we remodeled many rooms in this house, our favorite is the kitchen. We gutted the kitchen and began from scratch. We salvaged 100 year old oak flooring from another room in the house and reinstalled it so that the entire first floor was recreated with the original flooring, preserving the history of the home. We installed custom Amish made Shaker-style cabinets and exposed the hidden chimney, which gave the kitchen warmth and texture. Featured here is our design drawing of the kitchen, the lovely follow through, the entry way that we updated, and a glimpse into an additional bathroom which we constructed on the back of the home.
