Tucked in a quaint enclave of vintage Craftsman homes at the foot of Hollywood Hills, this backyard offers a serene haven for the busy homeowner. She envisioned a cozy, orchard-like retreat where she and her young daughter could unwind. The designer meticulously crafted an ensemble of climate-appropriate plants including fruit trees, flowering shrubs and perennials, which bloom in succession offering ever-changing colors and textures to entertain senses. Conventional sprinklers were replaced by a new drip irrigation system to maximize water efficiency. Raised beds were refreshed and also fitted with drip irrigation, and are now home to a variety of herbs and vegetables.
