D2 Interieurs' "House of Blues" is located in Greenwhich, CT. This was a new home that needed everything. This living space/great room was transformed into a beachy retreat. Our client loved the color blue, so one of the challenges was incorporating blue in every room without having the home look redundant. In the kitchen/eating area, we imported wallpaper from Australia and carried the graphic theme through the lounging area. All surfaces were given a new color palette, and textured grasscloth was applied to the backs of the bookcases. We also played with shapes in the lighting. The pendant over the eating area is custom and the cone shades break up all the linear elements. Custom barstools were covered in navy mohair, the studs mimicking the new hardware on the cabinets. Custom sectional, coffee table, stark carpet, a game area, and an additional seating could stand on their own but at the same time work seamlessly together. Because this is one big open area, it was very important that all the rooms flowed together.
