Hudson River Loft
This converted warehouse loft on the Hudson River overlooks the Manhattan skyline and is quite breathtaking. We filled the entire space with modern, masculine pieces, and also infused some industrial elements to tie in with the original architecture of the space. Crisp white stacked stone tile on the kitchen backsplash adds lightness and texture to the dark, sleek kitchen. A whimsical spiked chrome chandelier provides an unexpected touch of glamor and adds even more visual interest to the the stunning vista of the window walls. The furnishings in the great room are both modern and welcoming under the 14′ high exposed ceiling. In the master bedroom, an elegant upholstered bed and crisp white bedding exude hotel-like coziness, while the over-sized mirrored pendants and plush sheepskin rugs give the space a feeling of decadence and romance. In the study, a wall of custom built-ins provides an abundance of storage and functionality for use as a home office, while the mod sofa pulls out to a full sized bed and enables the room’s dual function of both an office and a guest bedroom. The success of this loft design is in the balance of its stunning architecture and its welcoming, modern serenity.
