Humbercrest

This family home in a lush green neighbourhood in west Toronto has been injected with rich colour and modern styling resulting in a sophisticated yet comfortable home for a large family to enjoy. The library space which occupies one end of the large living room is enveloped in dark teal walls, custom designed walnut millwork, subdued stylish furniture and lighting to enhance
their art and art book collections. The principal bedroom, once a large, cold, and unwelcoming space was divided into a sleeping area and dressing area with the addition of a partial wall behind the bed. The dark colours of the new wall and drapery now create a warm and welcoming sanctuary for the parents of 3 teen boys. Two of the three boys share a bedroom and were wanting their own spaces. Rather than divide the large bedroom with a wall, new doors and closets, a curtain of heavy fabric on a ceiling track is used. The boys each selected their favourite accent colours which gives each space within the larger room its own unique look and personality. The laundry room went from a blah basement hole to a colourful, fun space where laundry is not the boring task it once was !
