This was a new build on Lake Oconee outside Greensboro, Ga. The client wanted a coffered ceiling using reclaimed timbers. We reinforced a lot of the existing framing and installed them using screws from above. The result is striking with the lighter background of the other finish materials. One of our favorite parts is the scarf joint. There was only one half of the scarf in the materials, so we cut a mate in another timber to save it. The trusses in the great room were also joined and pinned.
