remodel, respects the home's architectural heritage while elevating its
functionality and aesthetic.
The design maintains the home’s defining Art Deco influences, with bold
geometric forms, clean lines, and a structured, modernist aesthetic. The newly
added steel pergola roof overhang and herringbone-patterned tile introduce
contemporary refinements while honoring the past. The transformation
includes the conversion of the original flat roof into a spacious rooftop
terrace, allowing for an expanded second-floor primary suite that integrates
effortlessly with the existing structure.
Streamline Moderne Influence
Reflecting the sleek, aerodynamic look of the late 1930s and 1940s, the
home’s curved corner, ribbon windows, and smooth stuccoed surfaces
capture the essence of Streamline Moderne. The extended rooflines and
cantilevered overhangs reinforce the era’s fascination with speed, efficiency,
and modern industrial materials.
Asymmetry & Horizontal Emphasis
