The original kitchen of this 13-year-old home was dark and dreary, with mismatched stained wood and inadequate lighting. The homeowner wanted a bright, timeless kitchen without altering the footprint. We started by replacing the large window that overlooked the neighbor's kitchen with two smaller windows flanking a new custom hood, ensuring we maintained the wall's shear capacity. The walk space between the island and back wall was widened for better workflow, and a microwave drawer was added to the island for easy access while keeping it out of sight.

We addressed challenges with a supporting beam by moving the window location to avoid additional engineering costs. Classic white cabinetry paired with Calcutta Borghini marble countertops and a stunning custom hood created a dramatic statement. The result is a beautifully redesigned kitchen that now serves as the homeowner’s “forever” home.
