The client's goal was to create a functional, modern Japandi-inspired design, featuring a fire pit patio, lawn area and drought-tolerant plants. The design utilizes straight lines and a color palette of grays and black with pops of pink and purple. The fire pit patio is surrounded by Boxwoods, Purple Fountain Grass, and Golden Barrel Cactus. Cherry Blossom and Black Pine trees frame the view of the canyon beyond. The plant palette is California-adaptive and native, providing year-round interest. The final touches include a rock garden and the sculptural Torri gate.
