A horse farm designed for a client in rural Kentucky. It sits on the rolling hills of the green country side and uses vernacular materials and gable roof lines to blend the new structure to the profile of the existing farm architecture.. Two antique log cabins were reconstructed into the plan and are linked together by a modern volume that has courtyard layout. One can look out to the vast distance or look within to the more contemplative courtyard. The buildings metal roofs, cedar beams, wood siding and Kentucky limestone columns and walls blend together to create an at once modern space with an historic memory.
