Our clients at Hunters Cliff desired a transformation that would break down barriers and breathe new life into their home, merging function with a sophisticated, modern aesthetic. Our design concept focused on "Spatial Fluidity" removing the constraints of the original floor plan to create a seamless connection between the culinary and living spaces, while introducing high-contrast elements to ground the design.
The original kitchen and living areas were compartmentalized by a load-bearing wall that interrupted the home's potential flow. Our team engineered a structural solution, installing robust LVL beams to remove this division entirely. This bold architectural move unveiled a spacious, light-filled volume perfect for their relaxed lifestyle and entertaining needs.
To anchor the newly expanded kitchen, we designed a striking island featuring charcoal gray shaker cabinetry with custom paneling. This deep, moody hue provides a dramatic counterpoint to the surrounding airy space, echoing the modern desire for contrast. We topped the island and perimeter workspaces with sleek quartz surfaces, selected for their timeless elegance and durability.
The design is further elevated by a grid-style tile backsplash, adding a layer of geometric texture and "quiet luxury" to the cooking area. Overhead, strategic recessed lighting highlights the clean lines of the renovation, ensuring the space feels warm and inviting. The result is a harmonious blend of structural ingenuity and refined finishes a sophisticated, open-concept sanctuary that perfectly reflects our client's vision.
