Kingsway

This imposing, high-style two-story brick structures began as two late nineteenth century brick houses, each with attics, gables, and two adjacent entryways, but without the existing cast iron trims and galleries. It's current appearance can be attributed to New Orleans legendary restaurateur, Leon Arnaud Cazenave (the "Count" of Arnaud's Restaurant,) who purchased both structures in the 1930s.

In the early 1990s, the property was converted into Kingsway Studios, a recording facility that became a local institution, established and operated by Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Lanois. Kingsway emerged as one of the music industry's most venerated commercial facilities, hosting such recording artists as Emmylou Harris, The Neville Brothers, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Iggy Pop, Robbie Robertson, and Sheryl Crow.

In 2004 the Kingsway was purchased by Academy Award-nominated actor Nicholas Cage, and converted into its current residential configuration. studioWTA was involved in renovations during this phase of the project. We returned to the space after its purchase from Mr. Cage, and completed a more thorough restoration and renovation for the current owner.
